I think you've got the right mindset - no one would write the body copy that way. In fact, who sends personal emails to friends by adding "(personal)" in the subject heading? The marketers who do this are exposing their lack of empathy for their subscribers. Some might not care if they see their list as somewhere to "blast". Others just don't get it. I'm glad you get it!
