How I Am Using BlogRush For Affiliate Marketing

I joined BlogRush last night. Well, maybe it’s still too early to see if I am getting traffic from it. But maybe here’s my simple outlook on the service.

I think BlogRush is brilliant. Another great project which makes you think, “Why didn’t I think of that?”

If you don’t know what BlogRush is, it’s a widget that you can put on your blog to multiply the traffic coming to your site.

How?

Well, the widget displays blog posts from other blogs. And depending on how many page views you get, your blog posts will also be displayed on that BlogRush widget on other blogs.

And here’s where it gets better…

You can refer people into BlogRush and your blog posts will appear more often in other people’s blogs.

Cool eh?

You can head over to BlogRush to check it out.

Now, here’s where BlogRush is still lacking.

  1. Reporting and DashBoard is still under development
  2. Adding a new blog to your account is still buggy. I ended up with 3 instance of the same blog because the page didn’t appear, and I kept refreshing.
  3. You don’t know your referral link. The only way to know what you referral link is to send an invite to yourself and get it from that email that you receive.

Apart from these three, I think BlogRush is great. I am sure John Reese and his team will be fixing this soon. But it could have been a better launch if all these were in place.

Alright, so how do I use BlogRush?

Do you remember Niche Marketing on Crack (NMOC)?

The basic idea with NMOC is to build your niche site using WordPress as the content management. I don’t know why, but WordPress can attract traffic rather easily.

I have two NMOC sites which are doing alright with traffic. With the way that it’s built and the niche that I am targeting, I am able to get consistent streams of traffic from the search engines.

I don’t get much sales, just about 5-10 each months. But hey, I haven’t touch the sites for months, until last night when I installed BlogRush.

Since the traffic is rather consistent, it’s great for BlogRush. As long as I have traffic to my NMOC sites, I can get exposure on BlogRush on other people’s blog.

So I just add my NMOC site to BlogRush (which is actually a blog built on WordPress), get the codes and put the widget in.

I don’t how well it’ll do. It’s only been a few hours. But since there’s nothing to lose, I am giving it a try.
