Joomla! released a new version of their software that is a completely new build of the system you were using for your site. This new version is easy to use, easier to code, and cleaner to look at. Plus, there's already a ton more support out there for this version than the previous. Check it out, you won't be sorry.

Wordpress is not a CMS or anything close to it. If you want a blog, get Wordpress, if you want a CMS...then get something else.

By the way, how did that portal go?

Hey,

I used Joomla on a couple of sites also, and me to got into problems sometimes when it comes to custom made modules or plugins. It's a lot of hard work to make it yourself or redesign it.

But then I saw the light :)
Try Expression Engine, they have a free core version and a paying full version.
Offcourse the core isn't that complete as the full, but the power of EE (Expression engine) is that there's pratically no programming neccessary.
Everything is part of a DB and you just place the fields you want were you want it.
Else check out my site (you did allready) it's build by myself in the free version of EE.

If any more questions needed, you know where to find me!

Salam.

Hehehe. Tergelak juga saya baca kisah pengalaman saudara. Sekurang-kurangnya saudara seorang pengaturcara, sedangkan saya sendiri terkial-kial sewaktu mula-mula kenali Mambo - Joomla.

Memang penting baca manual.

I got the same problem like you. Not to mention, I am a programmer too. It is too confusing and I don't even know what to click and modify.

Ended up I convert the entire site to use WordPress as CMS instead. Fast ... and more or less I can get the same feature I wanted.
