Video Marketing: Create Your Own Product Trailer
Now, here’s a brilliant strategy when it comes to using video to market your product. I remember reading Getting Real, an ebook on web software development and marketing. If you haven’t read it, get it. It’s great. It’s about simplicity when it comes to web software development. Anyway, the book suggested a Hollywood-style product launch.
Think for a moment, how does one do a Hollywood-style product launch? One of the method is to create a trailer.
I remember listening to an audio interview between two of the gurus of The Secret. It was Joe Vitale and Bob Doyle. And one thing surprising information was that Joe Vitale at first turned down Rhonda’s invitation to be on The Secret.
Really! You know what Rhonda did next? She sent Joe Vitale the trailer of The Secret that she did before hand. And that opened Joe’s eyes. And after that, the trailer was further used to create curiosity and anticipation of the launch.
Here’s another example. Do you know Mark Monciardini? In the Internet marketing community, he’s known for his Cover Action Pro, a collection of Photoshop actions that helps you create stunning, 3D-style ebook covers. Many ebook cover designers use them. I have them too.
You probably don’t know this, but Mark just recently launched another product. It’s a home study course on awesome Photoshop techniques. It’s great that he has sold over 1000 copies of the home study course in less than a month. Of course, it’s not like John Reese’s 1000 copies in 24 hours, but still, even I have never push 100 products in a month. So doing 1000 in less than a month is impressive in my books.
How did he do it? He has a trailer of the product launch. And it’s quite a good one too. Check it out here:

So on your next project, you may want to think about doing a trailer for it. Hollywood-style launching … build anticipation.
