Effortless Creative Link Building … Tell Me Your Ideas …
I used to do a lot of SEO when I started out. And when it comes to link building, the normal things that everybody does are recriprocal links (which Google is cracking down on) and submitting to directories.
But lately I have been looking at several creative link building methods, which are almost effortless. So I am going to list a few methods that I have been seeing lately. And those who do these, well, they are great …
Of course you leave part of it to chance, but hey … it’s almost effortless. I think doing something like this a whole lot better than asking webmasters to swap links with you.
Giveaway Free WordPress Theme
You know how good it is to get links from blogs. Why not create (or hire someone to create) a WordPress theme. And then you can list them at the many WordPress theme websites available. Of course you leave a link in the default theme design. And most people never really hack the code of your theme. And like me, even that I do have the code, I still leave that link there because I think it’s the least I could do for using his theme. It’s not like it’s costing me money.
A friend of mine (which you probably know) did this and got tons of links to his link directory site. And that also boosts his Pagerank to 5 or 6 or so. You can also do this with the various blog scripts or CMS scripts available in the market. You can create a template for Blogger, Joomla, TypePad …
Giveaway A Useful Script
One of the most sought after scripts are — link directories and article directories management scripts. Duncan Carver giveaway a link directory site known as Link Management Assistant. What is a $197 software is now free. And guess what he’s getting for giving the script away. Yes — Links! It’s coded in the script. And also in the TOS that you cannot remove it. The same case goes for Article Dashboard and ArticleMS. Both of these article directory scripts are free but they link back to the main site, or better yet, has links the the script creator can manipulate.
Create A Corner Ribbon Code
What’s a corner ribbon? Also known as website ribbon, it’s one of those little banner that you sometime see appearing at websites on the top corner … could be on the left or on the right. Normally people do this to get others to promote something. Here’s a website ribbon generator.
To make it easy for people, you can just make them copy and paste a short javascript code. But the truth is, search engines may not credit links from javascripts. But you can’t deny that these corner ribbons are cool, and can really bring you traffic.
Though, most of the times, people will only put a corner ribbon on their site to promote something that has a cause, like telling people to convert to Firefox instead of IE, or promoting charity sites, or maybe a member of a club, forum or something.
Well … these are what I have for now … If you have anymore ideas for EFFORTLESS creative link building, please do share. Leave comments.
