What’s With All The “Adsense Templates”?

buynowphoto.jpgHmm … there are a lot of this flying around lately. And mostly targeting the Internet Marketing community. Me … I stay away from it.

OK, there’s nothing wrong with selling templates. But sell it as it is. It’s no more than just templates. Yes, probably they are more optimized for search engines and Adsense placement layout. And yes, that can give you more clicks, and give you a little extra. But aren’t the tricks are all out there already? And what if you don’t have traffic to start with?
What I don’t like is that people are selling and promoting Adsense templates as if they are the magic pill. It’s as if you the templates are the BIG SECRET to huge Adsense income.

What about building a good quality site? Now, I am not talking about niche-content sites where you just research a topic and start writing content in them. I am talking about a strategy that existed since 1997 and is still very powerful. Lately, I am paying a lot more attention to people who are slowly building their little network of sites. Some are blog sites, some are directories, some are forums, and some are even e-commerce affiliate sites.

If you want to make money with Adsense, here’s the formula my friend Vincent shared:

Good Content + Good Incoming Links + Good Paying Niche = Off to the Bahamas

Me, I am shifting my focus away from Adsense. But if you want a piece of advice, learn from the “Webmasters” out there that have been building good quality sites from day one. And now these Webmasters own a network of sites which bring in over 1 million visitors every month.

So who are these Webmasters? Check out if you know these names …

And I am pretty sure there are more … I don’t really know what Vincent actually does online, but I can bet he qualifies to be in the same group with these people.

And back to the Adsense templates again … I know they show you their huge Adsense earning. But believe me, the template is just 1/10 of the contributing factor, probably lesser. The templates is not the actual reason why they made that much. I am certain that they have traffic. Probably more than 5000 unique visitors every day … maybe more.

But they sell you the Adsense templates by showing off their huge Adsense income … because you will buy those templates.

  1. sooner the search engine will penalize their websites.

  2. I cant remember who is was complaining about the same thing, but it made sense…

You don’t need 100 adsense templates or whatever. You just need ONE template that works, and you can apply it to 100 sites.

I’m shifting more towards ugins Wordpress, simply because it’s easier toorganize a group of writers to write your content with some sort of CMS. As far as templates go, I find that you need to make your templates plain enough so it doesn’t distract from the content..

Could not access the Adsense Templates site yesterday…too much traffic maybe?
Well as along as people are buying, there will be others selling stuff like this…

  3. Actually it’s Chris Beasley. He’s a great guy! :-)

Thanks for posting your opinion on this. I like it.

  4. I just bought Jay Young package. Much cheaper than Joel C.
Let me see what I can get out of it.

Right now, I am getting about 100 clicks a day from Adsense using the good old technique. If I can get 200 clicks a day after using the template, then I got some good testing.

  5. david, whats that?

kidino, Yes the big hyped salesletters continue to promis gold…i am sooo tired of that.

hmm was wondering about to use WPblogs or build ordinary static, have tried both.
WP is automatic and easy to use but what about the SEO in the default WPtemplates? any ideas.
i made a static site with dreamweaver using SEOtricks and it works but that takes time and i need 100 more of that kind ;) so i was wondering about using WPblogs (that i like) and getting sme SEO and result..
    any ideas are appreciated!

    Thanks Marian … Typo corrected.

  7. Hey there,

Thanks for the mention and the kind words.

I just wanted to mention, also, that while we’re doing well over a million pageviews a month, we’re doing well under a million unique visitors. And, also, I am no where near to “off to the Bahamas.” I’m more like “modest living if I had to.” hehe :) But, I hope to get there eventually.

    Good luck with your projects.

Heya Patrick, glad that you could drop by. Thanks for setting the records straight. But you are being modest. At an age like you with all the successful websites you own, you are an inspiration to me. Maybe to many others too …

  9. Well, I don’t know what to say, other than thanks. :)

  10. Yeah… if everyone starts buying those templates, there’ll be more junk on the Net, more duplicate content and the SEs will have a field day…

  11. I agree with you Kidino with all these adsense templates flying around. I get a few emails plugging adsense templates but I refuse to join in. I’d rather build my own adsense templates.

    Cheers
    Ade

  12. I think we can’t blame anybody who want to promote those adsense templates. If anyone can get 100 clicks/day like what David gets using those templates rather than just few clicks or no clicks per day then why not. Just remember that there are lots of newbies out there and spending time tweaking those templates are really time consuming for newbies, including me. It’s just like promoting all those affiliate ebooks or software on “how to make money” from clickbank and etc. Business is business don’t you think so…

BTW I’m not affiliating with those adsense templates guys/gurus. Just my 2 cent.
