My Teleseminar Test Went Fine But …

A few weeks back I did a mailing to my readers asking them to participate in a Teleseminar Test. I wanted to try out a new teleconference service, High Speed Conferencing, that you can use with Skype.

I think the call went fine. We had 7 people in the room that time. Participants were calling in from UK, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia and USA.

Actually, I was not only testing the teleconference service, but I was also testing a recording software I just purchased. That I wanted to see the quality of the recording. But when I listened back to the recording, I realize that my own voice was like from a distant away.

And here’s the shocker …

I didn’t plugged-in my mic! But the built-in mic on my notebook still manage to catch my voice and put it through. But because I was like 1-2 feet away from the mic, my voice was like from a distant away. And then I remember some of the callers saying that they can barely hear my voice.

Apart from that, the teleseminar was great.

Right now, I am writing a special report on how you can host and record a teleseminar from your computer. Better get back to that then …

  1. Kidino…

You didn’t plugged in the mike?!

I guess things tend to go WRONG no matter how much you PLAN….

That night, my hubby and I were just waiting on Skype…had planned to go and join the teleconference since that time you sent the email…
so we waited and surfed the internet, read emails, wrote in my blog…really looking forward to it…
….and then the stupid office servers just decide to shut down at 10.55pm! We lost our internet connection 5 minutes before the scheduled time!
We tried WIFI, it was down too… I felt like s#@t as I had promised I’d join 10 minutes before.

…so my hubby and I had a frantic 30 minutes rush out of the office and drove around to find a CC… thank God there was a CC in TTDI Jaya and it was opened…
I was a bit annoyed that the Office servers had shut off at that crucial moment … we had been online since 8.45pm and it was fine before…

By the time I could join in the teleconference, I missed like 3/4 of it and had no idea if you guys heard me or what was going on…

huhu…i hope you’d only send the MP3 to those involved coz I think I made a fool of myself… saying “hello..hello…hello…. can anyone hear me?…” ;)

hahaha…the things I put my hubby thru in the name of internet marketing…

    Yeah…but it was worth it.

  2. Hi Kidino!
Sorry I missed the second go-around with the teleseminar. I was hoping to pop in, but it was my husband’s birthday and he wasn’t willing to share me that day (he’ll take any excuse to get me out of my office!). Hope it went well (except for the mic thing!)

    Warmly,
    Stephanie

  8. Hi Kidino,
    pity abt the mic.

    Which software were u using?
I was trying out freecorder.com for a while, but haven’t had a chance to call into a teleseminar yet.

btw, will yr teleseminar be available as a MP3 download?

    cheers!

  9. Hey Kidino,

have a suggestion here for you. Perhaps in the future, for such important things like recording teleseminar with experts, you can do the people in the airlines do. Have a checklist before you take off.

Check each items off b’4 you start. Hope that it works for you.

    cheers.
