Why Offer Bonuses For Affiliate Sales – Apart From Boosting Sales

OK, I have this quite interesting experience with promoting affiliate programs. People know that with your own list, you can boost the sales for the affiliate program that you are promoting by offering extra bonuses for their purchase. I do this with XSitePro and also with the recent Niche Products Monthly. With XSitePro, I am offering extra XSitePro templates. With Niche Products Monthly, I put together five products if they buy from my affiliate links.

You already know this increases sales. Let me tell you something else that you might not know. Offering bonuses has it’s own purposes other than increasing sales.

With the recent Niche Products Monthly, I have this experience where some people are writing emails to me claiming the bonuses that I am offering. But the strange thing is, when I logged into the affiliate’s area, I can’t find their names.

I had questions … so I emailed Jason (the owner) about this. And he mentioned that the names that I sent him are actual customers and he has no idea why they weren’t actually captured. My simple answer – sometimes people just turn off their cookie all together. So if the affiliate tracking that they are using uses cookie 100%, you might lose out on that. So Jason generously awarded me the commissions for the names that I mentioned. I wouldn’t have known them to be customers if I didn’t actually refer them myself, would I?

I got 7 extra sales by doing that … that’s a lot! So, by offering bonuses, you can actually get back some lost sales …

By the way, I became affiliate #7 outbeating some of the marketers I know to have 3 or 4 times bigger list than I am.
