Getting Into Online MLM

I have a lot of things to write actually … without fail, I have been writing to my subscribers every week. But with this blog, sometimes I fail to do that.

Anyhow, I want you to know that I am doing Online MLM right now.

One time ago, I used to a offline MLM. I go out almost every night attending the functions that company is doing. And the objective is to get a friend to come along and sit through the presentation at that function. Most of the times I failed at getting someone to come. But I still go … even alone. Because I see it as a learning process that I need to do. And as time passes by, though my new sign-ups are bad, I am getting good at attending the function, and at doing the presentation … because the presentation was being done everytime at the function.

At least, if there’s one thing that I picked up, I got good at doing presentations. Even one time, when I was a guest speaker at an Internet Marketing seminar … the host said to me, “You seems natural with presenting” And he didn’t know that I used to do offline MLM before …

Anyhow, about my offline MLM … I didn’t get many sign-ups because I didn’t like to invite people for the functions. I suck at that. I don’t know what to say. And even though I have a script to do the invitation, it never seemed natural. I always felt like lying when reading that script. And to make it all worse … my people skills are not one of my best traits. I am not really shy, but I am not the type of guy who can just walk up to a guy or girl and make friends. They say I have the Phlegmatic personality …

And after going out almost every night and getting home so late (luckily I was single then), especially with no new sign-ups most of the times, you got to admit that it’s wearing you off. And not to mention the rejections, the “NOs” and the critism I get right in the face … What can I say, I am a sensitive guy. Phlegmatics are like that.

Little by little, I am starting to get tired of it. The initial dream of financial freedom is starting to fade away … I think I lose money more than I make in that business. Function tickets, monthly maintenance, gas (petrol), phone calls (Oh yes, my bills were up high contacting downlines and prospects), etc …

I guess it’s obvious … I quit …

But thinking back at what got me to MLM, I remember that I like that part about recurring income, or maybe even residual income. What if you can work today and get paid for the rest of your life? That’ll be good right? Who wouldn’t want that? And I also like the idea of leveraging your time and effort for greater results. From reading and observation, I see that successful people never fail to use leverage to create wealth. While others work 40 hours and get paid $100, you can work 40 hours and get paid $10,000. But of course, the numbers are smaller in the beginning.

When I started to do Internet marketing, I was seeing consistent success for my effort. In fact at one time, I felt like my Internet business was covering over my MLM business.

When you think about MLM and you combine that with the Internet, I was thinking if it’s possible to do an MLM business without having to approach people, do live presentation, or even get any rejections … Those were the things that bothered me most. If it wasn’t because that MLM requires too much “people skills”, I don’t think that I had been worn off, or even quit. I might still be in there. Oh yeah, the hidden financial part as well. If I don’t really have to go out and spend of gas and function tickets, I might still be doing it right now …

So I researched. Yes … there are online MLMs out there. With many of the things are automated, you don’t have to call your prospects, you don’t have to speak to strangers, you don’t have to go out for meetings and functions, you don’t have to do live presention … and best of all, you never get any rejections at all.
