Project $1K: Day 6 – My First Subscriber
Well, I can say that my Google Adwords campaign isn’t going too well. I am not really into PPC but I thought I’d give it a shot. Frankly I don’t know what went wrong. It could be that I am not bidding enough, or I am not bidding enough keywords.
But anyhow, I am starting to see traffic from the article campaign that I did. I am approved at both EzineArticles.com and iSnare.com. One of iSnare’s distribution partners wrote to me and said that they are putting my article on their website.
As for the marketing campaign in total, I am seeing that it’s starting to roll in. And last night, something happened — I got a subscriber. Though it’s just one, I hope it’s a sign for more …
As for the ezine publishers, I got rejected by one, and another ezine publisher said that she will put it up on her website. I was hoping for an email blast, but thats OK. I hope I get a reply from some other ezine publishers that I contacted.
I have this thought of doing another article. I do have an idea for another article – the more the better, right?
OK, here’s another idea. What if I join a few YahooGroups and put my articles there. Even if the group only allows moderator posting, I can still contact the moderator and send him/her my article. And of course, I’ll only join related groups … We’ll see how I am doing with this one.

$1000 in 7 days, and today is day 6. It seems to me you’re failing miserably. Hopefully you can admit that when tomorrow comes around.

Hey kidino,
Congrats on your first subscriber.
Well for your adwords compaign, I’m still a nobody in this subject, but I think you ought to check out Perry Marshall’s definitive guide on adwords. You could use on of his adwords karma called “peel & Stick” to try out. :)
My previous adwords campaign ran on average of 2-3% clickthrough rate after applying some of Perry’s stuff but then my conversion rate was bad as hell. (see I told you I’m still a newbie!). I then stopped all the campaign and concentrate on my sales process and stuff. sigh…
Oh kidino, about the ezine publishers, perhaps you could offer a little “bait” for them to have them response better. :) I read this from somewhere..
and good luck on your yahoogroup posting. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of yahoogroups for your to chew at. Some of the yahoogroups are abit stiff on your formatting. So you might wanna try the http://www.formatit.com to have it a go.
Warmly,
Sunny Tan

Well … I am approving the message above because I got nothing to hide. Nor do I feel bad about it. Well, the goal is to make $1000 in 7 days. But I did mention that participants have a maximum of 30 days to do it.
Fail or success — I am sure there’re things to be learn, as pointed out by Ryan Philling.

So Anonymous, thanks for pointing it out …

Hello Anonymous,
It’s good to point out your views.
But to me, isn’t that any better than anyone buying any of those so-called “7 days to riches”, “Internet Marketing Goldmine” or even “How to Get Rich From the Internet”, which most of the time are nothing but pieces of mumbo jumbo craps rehashed from the Internet source itself?
Mind you, there are countless of those self-proclaim internet marketing experts who are nobody themselves and think that the only way to make money for themselves is to sell “how to make money” ebooks and stuffs.
It’s been a great thing that Kidino has put up this challenge for those who took up this offer. For my case, even if I fail miserably or don’t even get up the expectation of getting pass the USD1000 mark in 30 days, at least I still be able to look at my past mistakes and can become some sort of case studies to be commented or criticised at.
Even though I’m making making abit here and there from the Internet, but the best learning experience one can ever get to make more money on the Internet is by constant learning and applying the things and we learn, and not by letting people know how great we are instead.
I rest my case.

Hi Kidino;
I admire your willingness to share your adventures with us, your readers.
I personally think you should set 40 niche topics, get your keywords from a one day subscription to Wordtracker, put up the sites monetized by adsense and CB affiliate products and use every available method of getting them indexed.
You will (WILL) have your $1000+ in a month.
This will cost you about 100 bux if you get cheap .info domains and use subdomains on some.
Frankly, with your website design talent and know-how, which I don’t, you should do much better.
Of course as you and your readers know, the income stream will be short lived, but that’s not the intent of this project.
–>Your goals, as stated, is to achieve a $1000 in a month.
How do I know if this works? Because I did it and achieved much better results than that.
The problem with the above model is that it is short-lived. The advantage of your model is that it will be long lived and bring in results for much longer.
Good luck to you and your family.
And don’t ever let distractors and nay sayers sway you from your dreams.

Yeah … still, how about the tools to do that. While you can do that, $100 isn’t enough to buy the tools you need.

I had spoken to a guy from US that he actually earns $10,000 from all of his 40 over websites.. :)

Kidino;
Tools?
You already have XsitePro and you have what most of us don’t…. the GREAT ability to build sites on demand. You can even just put up blogs my brother…
Even without Xsite pro, you can use blogs or any free or low cost portal builder and put them up fast.
It’s all about making the sites unique, finding hot topics, picking the good keywords and getting them indexed – B&P, SiteMap, Articles.. etc.
Just to give you an example, I was using Frontpage to design my sites and promote them via B&P when B&P was working well and raked in 3K my first full month!
But I know you’ll succeed at this and please let us know if we can help you achieve your goals pal.
Good luck and here’s to your 1K in 30 :)

Sunny Tan
Ed,

Hey Kidino…
This sounds exciting. How do i join this ‘fear factor’ challenge?
Vp
Oh boy… man I m stuffed with my college papers… I’d love to do it…
I agree with 40 niche comment… this way you can get 1000$ in a month…
and I think this much money would be good enough for most newbies… I remember I earned like 6$ my first month when I started 1 and 1/2 yr ago… it sucked big deal :D lol…
