This is my latest email to my list. I was not sure of how people would react to it, but things look fine. Most people agree with me. Of course, some people hate me for it. Some, although agree with what I say, they disagree with the that I make my point.

I leave it to you … and another thing, when you get to the good people list, I am sure there’re more. Those are my personal favorites. Yours may be different. Oh yeah, another guy that should also be on that list - Craig Perrine - http://listprofitsecrets.com/blog/.

%firstname%,

You may think that I am just another ezine editor or publisher. But I am like you. I subscribe to other ezines too.

And you know what? It’s tiring getting promos after promos. They keep saying to you that this and that will make you money and it costs you $27, $67, $97, $197 … even $997!

Seriously, I am tired.

I am not saying that they can’t promote to their list. I am not against that. It’s a natural process in
business…

BUT IN EVERY EMAILS THAT I GET FROM THEM …??!

C’mon, you gotta be kidding me. I already did them a favor because I subscribed. Where’s the good stuff.
Don’t I deserve anything for that.

Oh yeah, the free ebook that I got, the ecourse? Filled with promos too!

ALL THAT THEY DO IS PROMOTE, PROMOTE, PROMOTE!

Geez… don’t they have any shame left? I am a real person here. Some even have the guts to put 50 messages
in their autoresponder that lasts A YEAR!

Who (What) do they think I am? Their ATM machine?

You must know by now that I am kinda pissed off by all these. OK, because of this, I have two things to tell
you.

ONE - Let me tell you my list of the good people.

These are the people that have always share good info, tips and tricks. Some I consider as close friends by
now. If you wanna to subscribe to an ezine, subscribe to these …

[+] Craig Garber - KingofCopy.com
[+] Lynn Terry - SelfStartersWeeklyTips.com
[+] Andre Chaperon - AndreChaperon.com
[+] Willie Crawford - WillieCrawford.com
[+] Paul Barrs - PaulBarrs.com
[+] Pat O’bryan - PatOBryan.com
[+] Jason Cain - GoldBlogger.com
[+] Alice Seba - AliceSeba.com

And yes, sometimes they do promote. But never have they shove things down my throat.

TWO - Let me make you a deal.

After saying all these, I don’t want to be one of those people that I talked about. And I need your help for that.

I like sharing tips and tricks with you. I like sharing information on how I make money online, big or small. And I promise you to keep doing that. And the best part is when I get an email from you, saying how you like it or hate it, or how it can be improved, or just a “Hi!”

Getting emails from subscribers keeps me going.

Everybody wants to be appreciated. And when I get an email saying things like that, I feel that the effort was worthwhile.

And when ever you see me that I am starting to become one of those shameless monster - send me an email.

I need you to keep me in check. Yes, I will still be promoting you - like I said, it’s natural in business.

But if I ever go too far - send me a reminder. Write to me and say, “Kidino, where’s the good stuffs?”

I guess that’s all. If you wanna to share your thoughts on this matter, just click the Reply button.

    Hey Kidino!

Just found this site of yours, and will add myself to your list.

I wanted to add one more to your list. He promotes more then he sued to, but there is still lots of really good stuff in most issues - Allan Gardyne - www.associateprograms.com.

I’m also hoping to add myself to that list eventually. :-) My blog may be morphing into a newsletter shortly, and if it does, I’m determined to use it in the same way that I used my blog - as a vehicle to get good information to people first and foremost, and product recommendations only when I find something incredibly useful that I’ve added to my toolbox and use with regularity.

I make all of my money outside the internet marketing arena, and I’ve always wondered why those newsletters get so promotion-heavy. I’ve narrowed it down to one of two reasons:

    1. Some marketers make all of their income from the internet marketing arena. They promote like crazy in order to put food on the table. A questionable business plan, at best.

    2. They venture into the internet marketing arena, find it lucrative, and can’t help going back to the golden goose repeatedly.

It’s #2 that I want to make sure I guard against.

Congrats on creating a newsletters that tries to find the right balance between information and promotion. Maybe together we can start a new revolution in that direction. ;-)

    Take care,
    ~Mike

Great rant there Kudino. I hear you 100%. When people sign up for my newsletter, I constantly feel like it’s my obligation to make sure they are getting some awesome stuff.

The other day I was promoting the heck out of a product. The funny thing was, they have no affiliate program. I had no vested interest other than giving my customers a heads up on something I thought was very cool, and I thought if they played poker, they should have it.

I think I’ll sign up for your newsletter as well considering I’m sure the advice will be put to good work.

    Take care

    Hey Kidino,

I wanted to thank you for including me in the your list of the good guys. It’s great to see folks like Pat OBryan and Alice Seba in there, too, among the others because they are good friends of mine.

I agree that if you offer a newsletter or ezine and promise to give content in exchange for an email address, you better deliver some content and not just promos for products.

The good news is that publishers who only promote and never offer value lose their subscribers’ trust and ultimately are not going to keep them coming back…

Though, for marketers I would say this… if you watch the promotions from others (even if that’s all they send you) you can often learn techniques and see what’s being offered in the market place… so it’s valuable as research even if they don’t send you ‘content’.

Others that you might consider adding are Michel Fortin (www.michelfortin.com) and David Garfinkel (www.world-copywriting-institute.com) who are chock full of good, helpful, balanced information.

As an aside, I’ve moved my blog that your linked to above to www.maverickmarketer.com/blog and have just started posting.

    All the best my friend,

    Craig Perrine
