About Kidino
Let’s start again. My name, I think you know, Iszuddin Ismail but better known as Kidino. I live in a place called Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. If you are in the USA, I am about on the other side of the globe.
I studied computer science and I have a strong interest to web design and web programming. I guess that would be my strength. I like it a lot and I have been developing websites with PHP, ASP and Perl since 1997.
So I don’t really have a problem in developing websites. But I don’t get much doing that. When I joined the workforce market, I realize that I need to get more and working a job is not going to do it.
However, I recall the opportunity of internet marketing that I have been reading since I started web designing. But it was not until like a year ago that I got started into internet marketing. And I am glad that I did.
Combining web programming and internet marketing can give you a lot of advantage. But I guess not everybody can do what I can. And sometimes, that limits them from getting started of going even further with internet marketing.
The thing is, I like helping people in that area. And more if the people the I am helping is making money as well. Share with me the things that you would like to see happening in your website and let me help you think of the solution. Maybe then we can implement it together.
I started out with affiliate marketing and it has been great. Along the way, I also picked up search engine marketing, email marketing, joint ventures and some few more tidbits along the way. If you got questions in this area, I welcome that as well.
How I Got Started
Now let me tell you about my first affiliate marketing venture.
I seriously started affiliate marketing after reading all about it for years. Yup, I read about it for years. And yes, I have read many success stories but I just never got started. At a time, felt like I know everything there is to know. I could explain all the marketing tactics and strategies better than some seasoned internet marketer.
But then, one time I read about an affiliate marketer who promoted a product with just a single-page website. Yet still, he made thousands. That kind of challenged me. Especially when I saw how his website looked like. It was lousy but that convinced me that beautiful website does not guarantee you your internet income.
Just like what I have been reading, I went out looking for a niche and my own keyword list. For that, I used the free trial Wordtracker and I got very great keywords. Actually, I didn’t know that they were good. I just gave it a shot.
Then, I started building my website. I signed-up into CJ and looked for a merchant. And I found one great merchant. I visited the merchant’s website and look for a product that I can promote and I found two. The product that I was promoting was computer cases. I found two very unique computer cases. With that two computer cases, and some information that I found on search engine optimization, I built a 2-page website and have it live at Doteasy. Then, I submitted to the search engines.
But actually, I was still having doubts. So, after all the work, I just left it there. But I was in shock to see the result later.
I didn’t do anything about it until end of three months later. The merchant that I promoted in my 2-page website was a merchant in Commission Junction (CJ). I was surprise to see my CJ report that month. I saw that my 2-page website has 2 sales, one sale in last month and one sale in the current month. That totaled to $26.
That was when it Struck Me…
I need to grow this into something bigger. So I read more and more. I looked for more information that I could find. Then I realize that my 2-page website needs to be bigger. If it has more content maybe I can have more webpage listed in the search engine.
Then I started optimizing that website, putting in more and more content. I started to see a trend that the more content I have, the more visitors came. I realize that I got more pages that rank well in search results from search engines. That was where the visitors came from.
Knowing the things I did with my first website, I started to develop other websites as well with the same concept I developed my first. Those too perform well. That is when I see my income grow more and more.
Oh yeah … that first website is steadily doing about $100 a month. On a good month, I may get $500. And that is just from one website I have. I have others too. Sorry that I can’t share with you the URL of my websites. I do worry about copycats and I see that happened to other marketers. I hope you understand.
Whatever you do, don’t call me a guru or anything because I am not. I still work a day job right now. But like all or us who see this great opportunity in internet marketing, we all want to earn full-time and work part-time at this. For me, I really see it coming.
