I may have a few tricks up my sleeve ... perhaps seven tricks. And these are cheap and free traffic strategies specifically for your name squeeze page. And I am going to share them with you today. You are question about these secret strategies that I am about to share with you, I want you to know that these are the strategies that I use myself. And these strategies have been bringing traffic over and over again. If you apply these strategies, you can be doing one thing today, and the traffic keeps coming for months to come. Believe me on this ... I still get new subscribers today. Secret #1 - Versus ArticlesOne of the most successful list-building secrets is writing and submitting articles. I know you've heard this dozens of times but I'm actually going going walk the walk and show you how to do it. I did an article a while back called "Blogs Vs Content Sites" and it's still pumping in traffic to my website today. It's no ordinary article though - it's called a "Versus Article". The title itself grabs your attention immediately, since it's a pretty straightforward comparison between two different type os profit-generating business models. A versus article is more powerful than any other type of article you can write, especially if it's about something that many people are into.
You'll see that articles like these are discussed over and over again - people never get tired of it. One reason is that each new version of the same topic improves the debate or takes it to the next level. People like to discuss about it and which ever sides you take, the actual answer is that "it's a never ending discussion". Secret #2 - "How I Achieved Something" ArticlesAchievement speaks louder than anything else as it's social proof of your ability and knowledge. Achievement can be documented and copied, and that's a huge attraction factor to almost everyone. Your article's title should start with "How I..." and can be anything that others may be considered an achievement. Detail out your exact strategies, and presell your product or website, but don't make it a sales pitch. And try having a timeframe on how long it took for you to achieve that result. Secret #3 - Cheat Sheet or "Top 10" ArticlesA "cheat sheet" article reveals short cuts, and everyone love short cuts although not everyone will admit it. If you can help someone save 15 minutes a day with your own short-cut, this can be turned into a killer article that gets passed around more than a dollar note. A "Top 10" article on the other hand serves as a reference list on current affairs related to your niches. People generally read these type of articles out of curiosity and the need to be up-to-date with information. You can write an article about:
Of course, your article can easily be "Top 3" or "Top 5" articles, but in general it's a bad idea to go beyond 10 main points. Make sure that the top few points relate to your product or website, which you will mention in your author profile at the bottom of the article. And the best thing that you can do with this "Top 10" article is to relate with current affairs. Every marketer knows that whenever there's a chance to relate your marketing with the current affairs, it's big.
Secret #3 - JVs with Friends and NetworkThe best JV strategy I can tell you is to start with people you already know, and people who already know you. Some time back I wrote about a few networking strategies for online businesses. To get started with your JV quest, you can look back at the things that you've bought, the people you've bought from, the ezines that you subscribe to, and emails that you've got replies from. Secret #4 - Forum PostingI know this doesn't sound too exciting, but it works. A forum with thousands of eyeballs that come day after day is something special. Forums usually cater to a specific topic, so all you need to do is to find one that best suits your product or website. Then, participate. Notice what I just said - I didn't say "promote" simply because in forums the best way to really promote is to have your website URL in your signature file, and offer help to answer other people's enquiries and problems. I like to start participating active threads because that's where the "action" is. Other people participating in the same thread are eager to see new replies and that gets many eye-balls to read my post, in which contains my signature and link back to my site. It's a lot better than starting a new thread. If your answers give value to the discussion, people will notice your posts, and they will always be asking, "Who's this guy." And that will bring traffic back to your site. Visiting forums every day may be too much for some. If this is the case, you can easily outsource forum posting to freelance sites like RentACoder (http://www.rentacoder.com). Just prepare you list of forums. Take note however that you need to inform the poster exactly how you want to participate and gain exposure in the forum. Set some guidelines and ask for a report on all the URLs that document how he replies and interacts with others in the forum. You don't want the hired poster to start spamming forums as this will give you a bad name. Now here's something more about forum postings. When you have spend enough time in forums, I am sure you'll have thousands of posts, along with your signature. Anytime you are promoting something new, you can just change your signature from the Profiles and thousands of posts will be directing to your new site. Secret #6 - Viral Referral SystemPerhaps the BIGGEST secret I can share with you on list-building is something I call "Viral Referral Systems". This strategy is still bringing in new subscribers to my DIYMiniSite.com and my WOWPopUp.com to this very day. Similar to what Mike Filsaime called "Butterfly Marketing", I developed my own script that can easily triple any amount of traffic you send to a website. Viral referral systems work best with mini-sites, where the main focus is to get the opt-in to a free or paid product. The product can be a report, ebook, videos, audio or anything that has value to the visitor. Since almost everyone else was selling what I was giving away for free, my site attracted visitors like hungry bees to honey. These bees ate happily too, since I provided them with excellent quality information. All I asked for was referrals, and I made this so easy for them to do. Once a subscriber signs-up, s/he gets a special referral code that will unlock access to certain parts of the site once he has referred three (3) other subscribers. Since there was no risk, i.e no purchase involved, almost all my subscribers started recommending my site to their friends. In an instant, I started a viral referral frenzy that I couldn't stop even if I tried. Not that I wanted to, though :) Secret #7 - Viral Referral ContestNow here's a strategy that will double or maybe triple the number of your subscribers in a month. I know that I doubled mine. But this only works if you have the Viral Referral System. When you have the Viral Referral System, at anytime, you can run a Referral Contest. When you have a referral script in place, you can always offer gifts, cash, telephone consulting, free website design, or other rewards to the top referrer of the month. With the referral script, make it easy for them to refer others and track referrals. Remember that the end rewards, i.e access to private forum or main bonus, also needs to be attractive anough.
